Brewers Dealt Road Setback At #19 NYU

Raphan makes season-high nine saves

Newark, NJ – The Vassar College Men's Soccer team suffered a 2-0 road loss at #19 New York University Tuesday night. Senior goalkeeper Jacob Raphan (Oceanside, NY) finished the contest with a season-high nine saves for the Brewers.
 
Tuesday's defeat drops Vassar to 2-4-1 overall on the season while the Violets remain unbeaten through eight contests at 7-0-1.
 
How It Happened
  • NYU unleashed 15 shots over the opening 45 minuets and found the only two goals of the contest in the final 15 minutes of the opening stanza.
  • Demir Calcap scored what proved to be the game winning goal at the 30:42 mark of the contest.
  • Nearly 13 minutes later, Tim Brdaric doubled the NYU lead with an unassisted tally at 43:06.
  • Corner kicks in the opening 45 minutes were even at 2-2.
  • Raphan made each of his nine stops prior to the break on Tuesday.
  • NYU goalkeeper, Gabino Talisayon, finished the first half with a pair of saves.
  • Neither team would score after halftime with Vassar holding a 4-2 advantage in shots.

For The Brewers
