Haverford, PA – The Vassar College Men's Tennis team opened the fall schedule with three matches at the Haverford/Swarthmore Invitational. The Brewers took on the hosts as well as Stevens over the weekend.
Vs. Haverford
- Vassar won three of the five doubles matches contested against the Fords.
- Eugene Lee (Chico, CA) and Jonas Santos (Las Vegas, NV) eased to a 6-2 victory for the Brewers.
- Sophomores Junchen Jia (Vail, AZ) and Maximus Martin (El Paso, TX) were victorious by a score of 6-4.
- Sanjay Rajkumar (Olathe, KS) and Shrey Choudhary (Farmington, CT) cruised to a 6-1 win in their first action of the season.
- Vassar went on to post a trio of singles win against Haverford in the first match of the day.
- Lee scored a 6-4, 4-6, 10-5 win.
- Martin battled to a 7-6 (4), 6-3 triumph.
- Eddie Zeng (Melissa, TX) posted a 6-1, 6-4 win for his first career victory.
Vs. Swarthmore
- Lee and Santos got off to a 2-0 start with a 6-3 doubles win against Swarthmore.
Vs. Stevens
- Lee and Santos closed out a perfect 3-0 weekend in doubles play with a 6-4 win against the Ducks.
- The Brewers closed the first weekend of the fall with five singles wins against Stevens.
- Lee finished a 2-1 weekend in singles play with a 6-1, 6-0 win.
- Choudhary was victorious for Vassar in a hard fought 7-6(4), 6-2 decision.
- Jia found the win column against the Ducks in a 7-5, 6-3 victory.
- Zeng closed out his second win of the weekend with a 6-2, 6-2 triumph.
- Parker Feng (Westport, CT) scored an 8-4 win for the Brewers for his first career win.
