2016: Came into her own as a junior, becoming a strong option at the net both offensively and defensively for the Brewers...played in 107 sets for the Brewers, starting 28 of the 30 matches she played in...finished with 144 kills as a junior, fourth-highest on the team, while hitting .195 as a junior...led the squad with 52 total blocks and nine solo rejections...also posted 82 digs and 33 aces...her ace total was fourth-highest on the squad...posted a career-high 11 kills for VC in a win over Sage Colleges October 13...finished the year with 14 matches with five or more terminations...had nine kills while hitting .438...registered five blocks against St. Lawrence September 16...also blocked five attempts at Wellesley October 8...posted a season-high seven digs for VC against Skidmore October 22...finished with eight kills against Williams College (Sep. 7) and Union (Oct. 21). 

2015: Had a solid sophomore season this year...in her 91 sets played, she posted 142 kills, averaging 1.56 a stanza...saw her strongest performance against Skidmore College on Oct. 16, as she killed 10 balls and dug up four...on the defensive end averaged 0.35 blocks per game, putting her third in that category for the Brewers... averaged 0.81 digs a set and posted 74 digs through the season...sits third for the Brewers for effective serves, posting 30 aces this season, averaging 0.33 a game. 

2014: Stepped into a starting role as a freshman, and held her own in the middle...played in 91 sets for the Brewers, playing in 27 of the 30 matches in 2014...was fifth on the team in kills with 81...started 23 times as a freshman...fourth on the team in blocks with 36 total rejections...played well down the stretch, chalking up four or more kills in her last five matches of the year...registered a career-high eight terminations against Westfield State (Oct. 10)...posted a career-best five total rejections against St. Lawrence (Sep. 19)...had a season-high seven digs in back-to-back matches against RIT (Oct. 17) and Skidmore (Oct. 17)...had 35 of her 59 season digs during the last six matches of the year...totalled 118 points as a freshman.

PRIOR TO VASSAR: Was a three-sport star for the Normans of Beverly Hills High School...lettered all four seasons for head coach Maria Weiss, starting all four seasons...served as a captain for a pair of campaigns...named Most Improved Player by Sports Shack Volleyball Club...named All-Ocean League second team as a junior and senior...also competed in softball and track at BHHS. 

PERSONAL: Parents are Jeff and Rebecca Sams...has one sibling, Juli (19)...majoring in geography...chose Vassar College over New York University, Brandeis University, Tufts University, Bates College and Hamilton College.
