Vassar College Athletics

2017-18: The freshman breaststroker had a very solid season for Vassar...broke all three breast stroke school records as a freshman...chalked up a 30.44 at the Liberty League Championships in the 50 breaststroke...posted a huge personal-best at the Seven Sisters Championships of 1:04.88 in the 100 breaststroke, posting a NCAA "B" qualifying time to win the event...earned three wins in the 100 breast this season including meets against RPI, Mount Holyoke and Trinity...was third in the 100 breast at the Liberty League Championships with a 1:06.06...also broke the school record in the 200 breast, chalking up a 2:23.45 to take runner-up position at the league meet...won the Seven Sisters title with a 2:23.98 in the 200 breast...also finished fourth at Seven Sisters in the 200 IM, swimming a 2:19.78...competed in both 200 and 400 medley and free relays as well for the Brewers. 

PRIOR TO VASSAR: Was a standout for the Colts of Kinnelon High School...named a senior team captain...also swam for the GMY Swim Team, serving as a captain...came to Vassar with personal bests of 25.8 (50 free), 57.00 (100 free), 1:07.92 (100 breast), 2:31.60 (200 breast), 2:11.03 (200 free) and 32.09 (50 breast)...member of Music Honor Society...served as historian for National Honor Society, also holding positions in Spanish Honor Society and Wind Ensemble Honors Band. 

PERSONAL: Parents Cathryn and Donald Schrope...two siblings, Nick and Paul...brother Nick swims at Middlebury College...chose Vassar over Tufts and Holy Cross "because of the programs available as well as the atmosphere and the people."
