Biography
2022-23: As captain and squad leader, completed her senior season with a 14-8… Went 3-3 in pools and won one direct elimination bout to place 29th at the NEIFC Big One… Had a victory over Fairleigh Dickenson (1-0) at the Vassar Invitational… Went 2-2 at the Matt Lampell Invite with victories over Bryn Mawr (1-2) and CCNY (1-0)… Went 6-3 at the Cleveland State Invitational with victories over Detroit Mercy (3-0) and Incarnate Word (2-1)… Went 5-3 at the EWFC Championship with victories over Yeshiva (1-1) and CCNY (3-0) and placed 12th in the individual round.
2021-22: As a team captain, finished her first season primarily in saber at 2-20… Beat Denison (2-1), SHU (2-1), and Hunter (1-0) in epee at the Vassar Invitational… Earned victories in epee over Yeshiva (3-0 and 1-0), and RPI (2-0) at the Matt Lampell Hudson River Invite… Tied with Haverford (1-1) in saber at the Eastern Women’s Fencing Conference Championships.
2020-21: Season canceled due to COVID-19 ...
2019-20: In her first season, went 34-52 in epee with one sabre win… Had two wins at the Matt Lampell Invite… Went 5-0 at the Sacred Heart Traditional Multi-Meet on Dec. 8, defeating Yeshiva (2-0) and Marist (2-0)… Tacked on three wins against Cleveland State and Detroit-Mercy… Went 4-5 at the NFC Multi-Meet #3, downing MIT (2-1).
PRIOR TO VASSAR: Competed in fencing for Brookline High School...was captain of the women’s epee fencing team her junior year...received the team’s Most Improved Player award her sophomore and junior years.
PERSONAL: Daughter of Aynsley Floyd and Thomas Mucha...chose Vassar because of its reputation as an excellent academic institution, her impression of its artistic and accepting character, and the school’s varied and creative extracurricular options.
