2020: Appeared and started one game this season… Went 2.1 innings against Scranton (2/23), giving up just two hits and one run… Finished with a 3.86 ERA.
2019: The sophomore continued his role as a pitcher-infielder, playing in 22 games starting 19… Started six games as a pitcher… On offensive, batted .259 with two doubles and 15 hits… Brought in 12 runs and five RBI… Tallied three hits against Plymouth State (3/12) and CCNY (4/3) …On the mound, was third on the team with 32.2 innings pitched… Second for Vassar with 31 strikeouts… Opened the season with wins against FDU-Florham (3/10) and Canton (3/16).
2018: The pitcher-infielder did both for the Brewers as a first-year player, seeing action in 26 games including seven as a hurler...offensively, batting .292 with two doubles, five RBI and eight runs scored as a freshman...walked seven times...also made five starters as a pitcher, posting a 6.58 ERA while striking out 18 in 26 innings of work...was 2-3 as a pitcher...had three games with two or more hits...made just four errors in 81 chances...was 2-for-4 in his first college start in the field at Occidental March 12...was 2-for-3 against Clarkson April 14...was 2-for-2 with a runs cored and walk against Bard May 6...went 1-for-4 with two runs scored and a double March 31 against St. Lawrence University...on the hill, earned his first collegiate win against Skidmore College, allowing three runs over 5.2 innings, striking out five...pitched 5.1 innings at Moravian, allowing two earned runs in a 3-2 loss...surrendered just five hits over five innings against St. Lawrence March 30...in a win at Pomona-PItzer, scattered six hits while striking out four in an 8-6 win.
PRIOR TO VASSAR: Was a two-sport standout for the Falcons of Joel Barlow HS...was voted as team captain as a junior and senior on the baseball diamond...was named as the Offensive Player of the Year for his squad as a junior, also earning Pitcher of the Year as a senior...named All-League as a junior and senior...awarded the SWC Scholar-Athlete Leadership Award in 2016-17...won four letters in basketball as well, serving as team captain twice...averaged 20 points per game for the hoops squad at Joel Barlow, earning Team MVP honors twice...National Honor Society member, along with Spanish Honor Society accolades as well...member of Mikey's Way Foundation.
PERSONAL: Son of Helen and Richard McGannon...has four siblings, Aubrey, Butch, Tammy and Kailley...brother Butch played football and was an All-American at Division I Sacred Heart.. chose Vassar because of the "proximity to NYC, my home, and the wonderful combination of academics and athletics Vassar offers. I also loved all of the facilities, members of the team and coaching staffs. The opportunities that Vassar offers truly excited me."
