Portsmouth, RI - At the Beast of the East Tournament the Vassar Women faced the University of Connecticut Women in a Sunday morning playoff game for the right to take on the University of Vermont Women in the Beast Division I final. Sixteen (16) consecutive games won at the Beast of the East Tournament and 4 Tournament Championship titles won in 2022, 2023, 2024 & 2025. Burlington, VT - The Vassar College Women's Rugby team traveled to Burlington, VT and faced the hosts University of Vermont as well as U.Mass., Amherst. Vassar is without a whole slew of starters this spring, so just 22 women departed campus for the trek north. First up was U.Mass., whom Vassar had played the weekend prior to Easter, and they were without some starters on account of participating in a Sevens Tournament. Poughkeepsie, NY - This was about as perfect as it gets as the Vassar B-side ran out at the Farm to take on their counterparts from U.Mass., Amherst. It was a sunny, chilly and blustery day but aside from the cold and occasional gusts, conditions were ideal for rugby. The Vassar grounds crew were out early to replace divots from the 7s Tournament on Saturday and a good crowd was on hand. Palo Alto, CA - Winter is coming to a close and the Vassar Women's Rugby team traveled to California to get a jump start on the Spring Season. It's always a tough ask of the players because much like a grizzly bear the squad has been in hibernation for months. The last time Vassar played was on December 7th, 2025 and after just 2 outdoor practices under the California sun they faced a formidable opponent in Stanford University. The Cardinal is just wrapping up regular season play and as their competitive 15s season starts in January. Vassar fielded what was essentially a B-side XV as a host of starters were away studying abroad or unavailable. Four teams have been formed and Vassar's Sophia Bailey will represent the college as a member of the Hawks XV.
