New Orleans, LA - The United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) announced its weekly national award winners for the week ending September 27 on Monday afternoon as Vassar College Women's Cross Country senior Haley Schoenegge was named the Division III National Athlete of the Week. This marks Schoenegge's second national cross country weekly honor of her career.

Schoenegge  broke her own program record by three seconds to earn her third straight individual first place finish as the #13 Brewers raced to a second place finish out of 16 scoring teams at the RPI Fairgrounds Showdown. Schoenegge raced around the Washington County Fairgrounds 6K course with a time of 20:49.2, outpacing her previous best of 20:52.3, to earn a first place finish out of 168 total finishers.

Schoenegge has won all three races to begin her senior campaign and now holds the top eight best times in Vassar program history. She has also been named the Liberty League Performer of the Week twice this season.

Vassar returns to action this weekend at the Running of the Cows (Pre-National Invitational) on the campus of Carleton College with the first races beginning at 11:00 a.m. (ET).
