Saratoga Springs, NY – The Vassar College Men's Rowing team returned to the water for its first competition of the spring on Saturday. The Brewers competed with Skidmore and RIT on Fish Creek and came away victorious in the varsity 8 race.
The Brewers had two entries on Saturday, competing in the varsity 8 race and the varsity 4 race. The event on Fish Creek featured a 5 mph tailwind to start the day and moderate chop with wind increasing throughout the day.

Willem Doherty (Newtown, CT) and coxswain Miriam Barker (Idlewylde, MD) took the victory on Saturday.
Vassar's crew held off Skidmore's entry and came away with the win with a time of 6:09. Skidmore came home just behind the Brewers in a time of 6:10 and RIT finished in 6:32.

Alexander Gough-Schnapp (Cambridge, MA),
Thomas Sporte (Oakland, CA),
Gabriel Leonard (Rougemont, NC) and coxswain
Sofia DeRose (Hoboken, NJ) completed the race in a time of 7:54.
RIT won the varsity 4 race with a time of 7:38 followed closely by Skidmore who finished in 7:39.
Vassar will be back in action on April 12 when it heads to Union.
