TROY, NY - The Liberty League announced its weekly award selections for the week ending September 22 as Vassar College Women's Cross Country sophomore
Haley Schoenegge tallied her third straight Performer of the Week selection after another impressive meet on Saturday at the Cardinal Invitational.
Schoenegge led the way for Vassar as she crossed the finish line second overall with a time of 21:20.06, leading the Brewers to a second place team finish on the campus of Wesleyan University.
Schoenegge put together another dominate race last weekend at the Ron Stonitsch Invitational as the sophomore crossed the finish line in 18:47.2, outpacing the next finisher by 13 seconds to earn her second straight first place finish.The sophomore's effort propelled Vassar to a first place team finish for the second straight meet as the #22 Brewers defeated #1 NYU in the second consecutive meet at the Vassar Farm.
Schoenegge earned the USTFCCCA Division III National Athlete of the Week on September 9 after leading the way for the Brewers in the first meet of the season with a first place overall finish in a new meet record time of 10:32.6 at the 3K Vassar Season Starter. Vassar finished with 30 points, just nipping the top-ranked Violets by four points, to earn a team first place finish.
Vassar is off this week before returning to action at the Paul Short Run at Lehigh on Saturday, October 5 at 9:30 a.m.
