New Orleans, LA - The United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Assocation (USTFCCCA) announced its National Athletes of the Week on Monday afternoon as sophomore
Haley Schoenegge garnered the program's first ever National Athlete of the Week award in Women's Cross Country.
Schoenegge, who won the 1500-meter crown at the NCAA DIII Outdoor Track and Field Championships more than four months ago, captured the individual title at the Vassar Season Starter on August 30. The sophomore covered the 3k course in a meet record time of 10:32.6, winning by exactly 18 seconds to lead the Brewers to a first place finish over #1 NYU.
The Brewers will return to the course on Saturday morning for the Ron Stonitsch Invitational with the women's team racing at 11:15 a.m. at the Vassar Farm.
