Guilderland, NY – Through 18 holes of the 2024 Liberty League Championship, the Vassar College Women's Golf team ranks fourth with a team score of 346. First Year Olivia Pocat (Saratoga, CA) sits in a tie for second and just one shot off the lead.
 
Pocat turned in a strong opening round for the Brewers, carding a 77 (+5) on Saturday. Pocat recorded four birdies on Saturday, including on the par 5 eighth and par 5 17^th. Pocat made the turn at even par after birdieing the final three holes of the front nine.
 
Fellow First Year Teaen Sweet (Surprise, AZ) finished Saturday's round in 17^th place after shooting an 85 (+13) for the Brewers. Sweet carded birdies on eight and nine to make the turn six-over par and added a birdie the par five 15^th on the back nine.
 
A third First Year player, Sophia Calvillo (Long Beach, CA) is in the 20^th position after shooting a 91 (+19) on Saturday with sophomore Katrina Wu (Great Neck, NY) following closely after carding a 93 (+21) on Saturday.
 
Nalinda Wanikpun from NYU holds the first round individual lead with a four-over par 76, leading four players by a single stroke. NYU holds the team lead with a score of 308 and is six shots clear of second place Wellesley.
 
Sunday's second round will tee off at 12:00 with the 2024 conference champion crowned at the conclusion of play.
