TROY, NY - The Liberty League has announced its weekly award winners for the week ending March 10 as Vassar College Women's Track and Field first year
Haley Schoenegge earned her third Rookie of the Week honor after an outstanding performance
at the NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships this weekend.
Schoenegge earned Second Team All-American status in the 1 Mile Run on Saturday at the NCAA Indoor Championships as she crossed the finish line in ninth place overall in 4:58.96. The first year scored a sixth place finish overall in the preliminary round on Friday and earned a spot in the finals with the second fastest non-automatic qualifying time in a school record time of 4:57.32.
Schoenegge concludes her first year indoor track and field season as the Liberty League Indoor Champion and school record holder in the 3000-meters. The first year also finished second in the mile in the Liberty League Championship and earned the First Track NCAA qualifying spot in Vassar Indoor Track and Field History.
Vassar will open the outdoor season this weekend as the Brewers head to West Point on Friday and Saturday.
