POUGHKEEPSIE, NY - The United Volleyball Conference (UVC) announced its weekly award winners for the week ending February 25th as Vassar College Men's Volleyball senior
Jacob Kim was named the Co-Player of the Week along with first year
Tucker Shearn earning Rookie of the Week honors.
#10 Vassar put together a 4-0 week with three UVC victories, including two over ranked opponents as Kim led the way with 34 kills, 42 assists, an ace, 13 digs and six blocks in three matches of action. Kim recorded a career-high 17 kills in the four-set victory over #16 Hobart and also added 10 digs, three blocks and 16 assists. Kim is the team leader in kills with 134, second in assists with 209, third in aces with 13 and is in the top-five in both digs and blocks.Â
Shearn also helped lead #10 Vassar to a 4-0 week as the first year finished with 29 total digs in three matches and notched his first career kill against #16 Hobart. Shearn currently leads the team in digs with 158 and is the conference leader in the category.
Winners of six straight, the Brewers head to Rochester this weekend to take on UVC foe Nazareth on Friday followed by a tri-match on Saturday with UVC foe St. John Fisher and Southern Virginia.
