Hayes Tabbed All-Liberty League Honorable Mention

Sophomore recorded 201 kills on the season

TROY, NY – The Liberty League has announced its year-end honors in women's volleyball on Wednesday and Vassar College student-athlete Hailey Hayes has been recognized. The sophomore was named as a Honorable Mention after an outstanding season both offensively and defensively for the Brewers.

Hayes appeared in 24 of the 25 matches for Vassar in 2022, playing in 81 total sets. She led the team in kills with 201, averaging 2.48 kills per set overall. In addition to a team-high 228.5 points on the year, Hayes added 12 assists and 18 service aces.

Defensively, Hayes was second on the squad with 175 digs for a 2.16 digs per set average. She also recorded 19 block assists for a 0.23 blocks per set average. On the season,Hayes posted at least one dig in every match, including five with at least 10 digs as she lifted a career-high 22 against Neumann in a five set victory.

Hayes notched at least one kill in all 24 matches, including a season-high 21 in a five set match against William Paterson. Additionally, she had at least one service ace in 11 matches, including a season-best three aces in three matches – vs Skidmore (9/23), at William Smith (10/1) & at Montclair State (10/26).

Vassar posted a 4-21 overall record in 2022, going 3-5 in Liberty League action and reaching the Liberty League First Round as the fifth seed.
