Mayer and Takiguchi Represent Men's Cross Country at 2022 NCAA Division III Championships

Takiguchi finishes a career-best 98th, Mayer crosses the line in 230th place

LANSING, MI - Senior Miles Takiguchi (Portland, OR) and junior Aidan Mayer (Croton-on-Hudson, NY) both hit the course for the Vassar College Men's Cross Country team at Forest Akers East Golf Course on the campus of Michigan State University in Lansing, Michigan on Saturday afternoon.

Takiguchi crossed the finish line first for Vassar as he placed a career-best 98th out of 294 runners in a time of 26:05.2 while Mayer finished in 230th place with a time of 26:53.6 in the cold conditions at the National Championship at Michigan State.

MIT won the team championship with 89 points while Wisconsin-La Crosse finished runner-up with 150 points. Wartburg checked in at third place with 185 points. John Carroll's junior Alex Phillip took home the individual championship as he crossed the line in 24:37.6, edging out Wisconsin Whitewater's Christian Patzka by three seconds.
