CANTON, N.Y. - The Vassar Men's Cross Country team raced to a seventh place finish out of 23 schools at the NCAA Mideast Regional, hosted by St. Lawrence University, on Saturday afternoon. Senior
Miles Takiguchi (Portland, OR) led the Brewers with an sixth place overall finish, crossing the finish line in 25:39.1 at the Ronald C. Hoffman Cross Country Course to earn All-Region honors.
Williams earned the team championship with 30 points followed by RPI in second place with 41 points. Middlebury recorded a third place finish with 92 points and Connecticut College was fourth with 119 points. The Ephs also had the top individual finisher as Elias Lindgren crossed the 8K finish line in a time of 25:03.9.
Junior
Aidan Mayer (Croton-on-Hudson, NY) was the second finisher for Vassar and also earned All-Region honors with a 23rd place finish in a time of 26:23.2 while junior
Andrew Blackburn (Needham, MA) finished in 44th position in a time of 27:14.0.
Freshman
Davis Anderson (Simsbury, CT) and sophomore
Jose Magana (Santa Ana, CA) finished out the top five for Vassar as Anderson crossed the finish line in 45th place in 27:18.0 while Magana was 51st with a time of 27:39.6.
Junior
Simon LaClair (Northampton, MA) and sophomore
Jason Cirrito (Miller Place, NY) each recorded strong runs for the Brewers as LaClair finished in 64th place in 28:07.0 while Cirrito crossed the line in 71st place with a time of 28:13.8.
